13 House Democrats Vote Against Biden’s ‘Open-Borders’ Policy

(DailyVantage.com) – A number of Democrats in the legislature have apparently finally wised up to the dire situation the U.S. is facing along its Southern border, and have called on the administration of President Joe Biden to take a much tougher stance on illegal immigration and other related issues.

More than a dozen Democrats in Congress voted along with Republicans to support a resolution slamming the Biden and his administration for America’s largely lax border policies. The resolution also condemned Biden, along with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, of creating “the worst border security crisis in the Nation’s history.” Furthermore, the resolution accuses the president of actually working against securing the border, “purposely violating” the country’s laws on immigration, and promoting weak and poor “interior immigration enforcement” policies in order to push an “open borders agenda”. As a result, the resolution adds, the president and his administration have effectively created a “public safety crisis.”

The Democrats who have called out President Biden on border issues include Representatives Nikki Budzinski and Eric Sorensen from Illinois, Yadira Caraveo from Colorado, Angie Craig from Minnesota, Josh Harder from California, Henry Cuellar from Texas, Don Davis from North Carolina, Sharice Davids from Kansas, Jared Golden from Maine, Susie Lee and Steven Horsford from Nevada, Mary Peltola from Alaska, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez from Washington State.

The resolution condemning Biden’s border policies passed the House with a 223-191 vote.

The White House and conservative legislators have continued to butt heads over border policies. House Republicans nixed a recent bipartisan bill from the Senate – one backed by the president as well – on border security, on grounds that it lacked teeth. The current impasse between the left and the right on border security has also seen other legislation and negotiations on other bills come to a standstill – including talks on continued government funding.
