(DailyVantage.com) – President Joe Biden has made no bones about his desire to draw Iran back to the negotiating table to reimplement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), more commonly known as the Iran Nuclear Deal. In doing so, he’s completely ignored the rising tensions and rogue nation’s escalating behaviors. Now, his administrators on the team have had enough, and they’re taking action.
On Monday, January 24, The Wall Street Journal reported Richard Nephew, special envoy for Iran, officially left the team. By that point, he hadn’t attended any meetings for the deal since early December when he attended discussions in Vienna. He’s not the only one to walk away, either. Two other team members have reportedly left, as well, bemoaning Biden’s “too soft” stance.

Rep. Michael Walsh (R-FL) praised the men for walking away, stating they recognized a national security risk. With Iran refusing to negotiate, ignoring inspections in direct violation of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s direction (IAEA), and crossing lines at every possible point, one has to wonder what’s left to salvage?
The recent departure of three members of this important team should signal Biden that what he’s doing isn’t working. Perhaps he needs to stop playing nice with Iranian officials attempting to play hardball and put national — and global — security first.
