Questions Abound Following the Murder of 4 University Students
(DailyVantage.com) – An assailant killed four college students in their off-campus residence in Moscow, Idaho, on Sunday, November 13. The perpetrator appears to have stabbed the victims while they slept, yet authorities don’t know much more. Investigators continue to probe the murders, but many questions remain unanswered.
Although the Latah County coroner has verified the means of death for the four University of Idaho students, law enforcement has yet to identify a suspect. Police cleared the driver who brought victims Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves home that night, and they eliminated the other two roommates from their list.
Speaking to Fox News, Steve Goncalves, Kaylee Goncalves’ father, said the killer left behind “a mess.” As such, it will take authorities quite a bit to sort through the evidence.

As part of the investigation, police have searched the area around the home, including the woods behind the house. While Moscow police are leading the charge, the FBI and state authorities are also involved. Idaho State Police Director Col. Kedrick Wills cautioned against people spreading rumors or misinformation. “We want answers too,” he said and asked for patience, according to reports.
While there are still a lot of questions, investigators do believe the assailant targeted the students, and authorities aren’t attributing the murders as a random crime. Meanwhile, law enforcement diligently works the crime scene and surrounding areas searching for answers the victims’ loved ones and the community so desperately seek.
