Beloved Actress Trapped in Elevator for an Hour

(DailyVantage.com) – Actress Jennifer Garner, who has a cameo in the new Marvel film “Deadpool & Wolverine,” got stuck in an elevator while attending last week’s Comic-Con in San Diego.

The actress, who was attending her first Comic-Con, was scheduled to participate with fellow “Deadpool & Wolverine” cast members in a panel discussion about the film in which she reprises the role of Elektra.

However, Garner nearly missed the event when she and a few others got stuck on an elevator at San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel.

Garner posted a series of videos on Instagram documenting her more than one-hour ordeal, joking that she could have used someone like Wolverine or Deadpool to rescue her from the elevator.

As they waited for a response to the 911 call, Garner posted videos updating her fans on how long she and her fellow elevator passengers had been stuck. The actress tried to lighten the mood among the stranded passengers, including by getting everyone to sing “99 Bottles of Beer.”

Finally, the group was freed after an hour and 12 minutes. When first responders got the doors open, Garner and the rest of the people aboard the elevator cheered.

Garner arrived in time for the panel discussion with co-stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.

Garner’s cameo appearance in “Deadpool & Wolverine” was not a surprise to Marvel fans as the news that she would reprise her role of Elektra was first reported last summer.

The third installment of the “Deadpool” series was projected to gross between $160-$170 million in its opening weekend. However, the film’s premiere outpaced expectations dramatically, raking in $211 million in the opening weekend, including $96 million last Friday alone, making “Deadpool & Wolverine” the sixth-biggest debut of all time.

Following the film’s weekend success, the Marvel Cinematic Universe became the first movie franchise to gross $30 billion globally.

During this year’s Comic-Con, Marvel also gave fans a first look at the upcoming film “Thunderbolts” ahead of its premier next year.
