(DailyVantage.com) – Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son, is facing an indictment for multiple tax-related crimes in California. Hunter Biden’s indictment comes as President Biden demands the wealthy pay their “fair share” of taxes and promises an overhaul of the American tax code. Despite President Biden’s assurances that his administration will reform tax law to account for wealthier Americans, the president hasn’t addressed his son’s alleged tax evasion.
According to the California indictment, Hunter Biden avoided paying $1.4 million in federal taxes over several years. The allegations against Hunter Biden also claim that while evading taxes, Hunter Biden spent large sums of money on illegal drugs and visits from escorts. Special Counsel David Weiss is leading the investigation into Hunter Biden and has detailed the criminal charges brought against President Biden’s son.
According to Weiss, Hunter Biden purposefully avoided taxes for four years through a tax scheme. Weiss claims that Hunter Biden failed to pay taxes from 2016 to 2019, totaling approximately $1.4 million. Weiss also said that Hunter Biden filed false tax returns in 2020 to avoid paying the self-assessed federal taxes he owed to the United States government. If Weiss’ statements are factual, Hunter Biden filed false tax returns during President Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
Weiss also alleges that Hunter Biden used his business, Owasco PC, in his tax evasion schemes. According to Weiss, Hunter Biden withdrew millions from Owasco PC and abused the company’s payroll and tax processes. Weiss’s allegations come as Hunter Biden faces immense scrutiny for multiple criminal offenses, and a probe by the House of Representatives alleges Hunter Biden’s involvement in political corruption. Hunter Biden faces up to 17 years in prison if convicted of the tax offenses, but it’s unlikely he’ll serve the entire sentence.
Despite his son facing over a decade of imprisonment and allegations of widespread tax fraud, President Biden refuses to address the ongoing legal cases against his son. Biden regularly campaigns on promises to make widespread adjustments to the American tax code. President Biden also promised Americans that his administration would hire additional IRS agents and increase the agency’s budget by $80 billion to ensure wealthier Americans couldn’t cheat taxes.
Despite President Biden’s claims of tax equality and fairness, Hunter Biden allegedly abused the tax code for years and may not spend time in prison due to his father’s political influence over the Department of Justice.
