(DailyVantage.com) – Former Trump-era Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has just announced her bid for office in 2024. In doing so, she is wasting no time laying out her vision for America.
During her official announcement, Hayley called for an end to “self-loathing” in America saying that “America is not a racist country”.
Now, Haley is calling for “mental competency tests” for senior politicians over the age of 75. This appears to be an obvious jab at President Biden as well as her former boss President Trump.
With Biden being 80 years old and Trump just a few months away from turning 77, there have been numerous calls for new leadership in both parties.
Interviewees from an Associated Press poll conducted in early February voiced concerns about Joe Biden’s age. When asked if Biden should seek reelection in 2024, one respondent said “I, honestly, think that he would be too old”. As for Trump, many believe that Republicans should look to younger stars in the party like Ron DeSantis for new leadership. DeSantis himself has, in the past, called for “new blood” in the party.
Haley, at a campaign kick-off rally in her home state of South Carolina, said that “In the America I see, the permanent politician will finally retire.” Haley’s sentiment, though, has been echoed, perhaps ironically, by those in the pro-Trump camp. Often, it is Trump and his supporters who are the most vocal in calling out President Biden’s apparent cognitive decline.
Trump himself has refuted claims that he is experiencing any kind of cognitive decline. In July of 2020, Trump took a cognitive test called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. He shared his results with Chris Wallace on his show, “Fox News Sunday”. Trump’s doctor said that he “aced it”. Biden, on the other hand, never agreed to take the test.
