(DailyVantage.com) – Tennesse authorities recently discovered the body of a 20-year-old missing woman from Georgia, resulting in three arrests and a looming criminal case. Investigators have identified the missing woman as Maury Ange-Martinez, who lived in Alpharetta, Georgia, before the time of her disappearance. Police discovered Ange-Martinez’s body on January 5th near Chattanooga, Tennesse, prompting an investigation by Tennesse police. Tennessee officials confirmed that a coroner positively identified Ange-Martinez but haven’t released an official cause of death.
Authorities informed Ange-Martinez’s mother about her daughter’s death on Mother’s Day and haven’t told her how her daughter died. Despite the lack of information about Ange-Martinez’s cause of death, investigators have arrested three men due to their suspected involvement in Ange-Martinez’s disappearance. Police found two of three suspects in custody for unrelated drug and weapon charges, and the third had fled to another region in Kansas before his arrest.
The three suspects are Allen Kerr, Jasmine Craig, and Sean Deshazer. Each of the three suspects lived around Chattanooga during the time of Ange-Martinez’s disappearance, and investigators believe they conspired together to conceal evidence relating to Ange-Martinez’s death. Although details regarding the three suspects’ involvement in Ange-Martinez’s death remain scarce, authorities are confident that they’ll uncover more evidence about the disappearance in the coming weeks.
While police aren’t sure how Ange-Martinez met the three suspects before her death, they do know information about the moments before the 20-year-old woman’s disappearance. According to investigators, Ange-Martinez disappeared in August after she left a jail in Cobb County, Tennessee. Nobody heard from Ange-Martinez or knew her whereabouts during the months following her release, and she didn’t resurface until someone found her body in January.
Ange-Martinez’s mother has spoken briefly about the ordeal and released a statement about her daughter’s disappearance and death. While talking about her daughter, Ange-Martinez’s mother said that she appreciates the work of the investigators and that she knows that the police are still working on her daughter’s case. Although investigators have arrested three suspects whom they believe took part in Ange-Martinez’s death, they remain engaged in finding details about the missing woman’s cause of death.
