(DailyVantage.com) – Border Patrol Union recently criticized the U.S. Department of Homeland Security following the Department of Homeland Security’s announcement of an operation meant to remove or detain illegal immigrants in Texas.
The Border Patrol Union claims that the Department of Homeland Security essentially warned migrants beforehand by announcing the operation for the entire world to see. The operation seems to be a response to the growing border crisis that has been ongoing since the beginning of Biden’s presidency, but the Border Patrol Union claims the operation is another “pandering pr stunt” by the Biden administration.
The White House, and Joe Biden specifically, as well as various federal departments like Homeland Security have remained adamant that there is no border crisis. This is simply untrue, as in March alone there were over 191,000 encounters along the southern border with immigrants, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
While illegal immigration numbers have started falling in recent memory, it remains a growing concern for many Americans. Despite this concern, the Biden administration doesn’t seem like it’ll do anything substantial to combat the growing illegal immigration crisis. Although the federal government within the U.S. doesn’t seem to be taking action in preventing further illegal immigration, certain governors like Ron DeSantis are taking steps to prevent migration in interesting ways.
DeSantis was recently criticized by Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador for signing into legislation a bill that would seek to combat migration to Florida. The bill in question provides over $10,000,000 for migrant transports from Florida to elsewhere, would require medium and large employers to verify their employees legal status, as well as allow authorities to charge someone with human trafficking for knowingly transporting an undocumented immigrant. The bill would also prevent undocumented immigrants from driving, even if they have a license from another state.
It’s clear that despite the Biden administration’s refusal to provide meaningful immigration legislation, some states like Florida are taking their own steps towards solving illegal immigration.
