College Student To Adopt Orphan Boy He Found in the Trash

Baby Found in Garbage – But There’s a Storybook Ending!

(DailyVantage.com) – Most college students focus on two things: enjoying youth and studying. But every now and then, a standout emerges. And that’s a fortunate twist of fate for one little boy — 27-year-old Jimmy Amisial is changing both their lives.

In 2017, Amisial traveled to his home country of Haiti to visit his mom. While there, he visited one of the local orphanages, changing his life forever. In the trash can outside the facility laid a naked infant, crying. When nobody else stepped up to help, the college student did. He took the baby boy home to his mother; they tended him together.

While they cared for the abandoned baby, Amisial enlisted the help of authorities to find the infant’s parents. They never found them. A judge asked whether Amisial would be the guardian. After long, careful consideration, he has decided to adopt the child, whom he named Emilio.

Adoption isn’t cheap. With an estimated cost of at least $60,000 to make the adoption legal, Amisial set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise some of the funds. At the time of publication, he had raised over $52,000 towards his goal.

Currently, Emilio still lives in Haiti, while Amisial attends college in San Marcos, Texas.
