(DailyVantage.com) – When politicians run for office, they’re responsible for fundraising and paying all campaign expenses. More importantly, they’re responsible for tracking those expenses and sometimes, it seems money ends up in some suspiciously familiar pockets. House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) might know something about this from personal experience.
According to a recent report by Fox News, Rep. Clyburn has been lining the pockets of family members to the tune of more than $200,000. According to expenditure reports, he’s paid money to two of his daughters, including Jennifer Clyburn Reed, who received $45,000 from the campaign funds for purported campaign management and consulting fees, but that’s not all. She’s also received thousands of dollars for rent expenses made out to a limited liability company, 49 Magnolia Blossoms, that her husband, Walter Reed, owns.

Similarly, Clyburn’s other daughter Angela Hannibal, also received several thousands of dollars for supposed truck rentals, catering, and canvassing. Rep. Clyburn paid her husband, Cecil Hannibal, more than $60,000 for travel and community outreach expenses.
Clyburn isn’t the only Democrat under scrutiny for his expenditures. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) also paid family members — namely her daughter — $81,000 in fiscal year 2021. It sure seems like Dems like to embrace nepotism.
