Democrats Attack Trump as Felon, Rally Unity After RNC

(DailyVantage.com) – Following former President Donald Trump’s recent appearance at the Republican National Convention, Democrats have refocused their attempt to discredit Trump and end the former president’s chances for re-election.

In their recent statements, Democrats primarily focused on Trump’s recent felony convictions and accused Trump of acting as a threat to democracy while serving his first term as the chief executive. The renewed attacks against Trump come just days after the former president survived an assassination attempt, but Democrats have quickly moved on from the ordeal and have dropped their recent push towards national unity in favor of attacking Trump and his campaign.

Among the Democrats attacking Trump is the chair of the Democratic National Committee, Jamie Harrison, who released a statement attacking Trump. In his statement, Harrison claimed that Trump didn’t care about American families or people struggling to make ends meet. Harrison said that Trump only cares about himself and the people who are “unquestionably” loyal to the former president. Harrison also briefly referenced Trump’s recently announced running mate, JD Vance, claiming that Vance also acts against American interests and shouldn’t win the upcoming presidential election alongside Trump.

Despite Harrison’s vitriolic comments about Trump and Vance, the former president’s RNC speech generated a surge of hype from conservative and independent voters. Trump wasn’t the only well-known celebrity who attended the event, as several notable icons like Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock showed up at the RNC to celebrate Trump and encourage people to vote for him. Trump also delivered a record-breaking speech during the event, as the former president spoke for more than an hour and a half, marking the longest presidential nomination acceptance speech in American history.

While the renewed attacks against Trump hardly surprise most American voters, some political consultants believe the attacks serve as the first step for Vice President Kamala Harris’s newly announced presidential campaign. President Joe Biden ended his re-election bid on July 21 and endorsed Harris for the Democratic nomination, raising concerns amongst Democrats about Harris’s ability to beat Trump in a direct competition. Although Harris polls slightly better against Trump than her predecessor, some political consultants believe Harris’s lack of popularity could result in a resounding defeat for the Democrats once the presidential election begins.
