(DailyVantage.com) – Following the Freedom Convoy’s occupation of Ottawa, Ontario, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau enacted the Emergencies Act as an authoritarian way of removing the protestors from the nation’s capital city. As part of the measure, Canadian officials threatened to freeze the bank accounts of protestors and those who donated to the cause. This action faced significant pushback, except from Democrats, which should come as no surprise to anyone.
From February 18 to 20, the Trafalgar Group polled 1,080 likely voters about their opinion on the Canadian government’s measures against its own citizens. Out of the entire group, just over 55% disapproved of the action. However, when broken down along party lines, the numbers take a significant turn. Out of the Democrats surveyed, nearly 68% approved of Trudeau’s actions. Just 17.2% disapproved, and the other 17.1% were unaware of the event.

Those who were likely to vote Republican and even those who didn’t affiliate with either party were significantly opposed to the heavy-handed action. Only 8% of likely GOP voters approved, while a whopping 87% disapproved. Looking at those who claimed no party affiliation, 74.4% disapproved of the action, while only 20.8% approved.
