(DailyVantage.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sharply criticized Vice President Kamala Harris this week following her interview on Fox News, where she struggled with basic questions about her platform and record. During an interview with Jesse Watters on Thursday, DeSantis remarked on the difficulties Harris has faced in her candidacy, framing it as an attempt to mask her weaknesses with media support and extensive campaign funds.
“Her whole candidacy, they airdrop her in to replace Biden,” DeSantis said, pointing out that Harris has had limited time to gain traction with voters. He claimed the Democratic Party was relying on media backing and significant financial resources to cover up her political shortcomings. However, he argued, “At the end of the day, this is a vapid, leftist San Francisco Democrat,” emphasizing that Harris struggles to provide substantive answers and possesses one of the most liberal records in national politics.
DeSantis further criticized Harris for her inability to name any points of disagreement with the Biden administration over the past three-and-a-half years, despite her slogan promoting a “new beginning” and a desire to “turn the page.” He argued that voters would see through the extensive ad campaigns promoting Harris, and would recognize what he described as her lack of genuine leadership ability. “I think that interview last night is another example of piercing that veil,” DeSantis said, suggesting that Harris’s interview exposed her weaknesses to a broader audience.
He also took issue with her rhetoric about protecting democracy, pointing out her support for eliminating the Senate filibuster, packing the Supreme Court, and potentially dismantling the Electoral College. These positions, he argued, contradict her stated commitment to protecting democratic institutions.
Concluding his critique, DeSantis called Harris’s entire candidacy “a fraud,” and suggested that more voters were catching on to what he sees as her lack of credibility. He framed the interview as a clear example of why Harris should not be considered for the presidency, stressing that the Democratic campaign’s efforts to prop her up were unlikely to succeed in the long run.
