(DailyVantage.com) – Due to recent statements from former President Donald Trump’s former ally and physician, Representative Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), some of Trump’s critics have accused the former president of lying about getting shot during a recent assassination attempt. Among the people doubting Trump’s recollection of the assassination is Keith Olbermann, who used to be one of ESPN’s top-rated anchors. Olbermann took to X, formerly Twitter, in response to Jackson’s statements during the Republican National Convention.
Jackson spoke about the assassination attempt against Trump during his RNC speech. Jackson shared details about Trump’s injury and the examination he performed on the former president following the failed assassination. According to Jackson, a bullet hit Trump and tore a two-centimeter-wide hole in the former president’s ear. Jackson said that the wound bled heavily during the moments immediately after the shooting and confirmed that Trump’s ear suffered intense swelling as a result of the injury. Jackson concluded his statements by claiming that Trump’s ear would recover soon and that the former president wouldn’t require sutures to heal correctly.
While many online commenters commended Jackson for sharing details about Trump’s injuries, others like Olbermann criticized Jackson and Trump and claimed that Jackson’s comments lacked merit. Olbermann shared his criticism of X, claiming that people shouldn’t believe Jackson. Olbermann said that Jackson doesn’t have a medical degree and that a bullet didn’t hit Trump during the failed assassination attempt. Olbermann’s comments serve as the latest instance of a celebrity doubting the details surrounding the failed attempt on Trump’s life, with some famous people accusing Trump of using the assassination attempt to gain sympathy from American voters.
Among the people doubting Trump’s story about the failed assassination are Joy Reid, a host for MSNBC, and tennis icon Martina Navratilova. Reid didn’t overtly criticize Trump when she briefly talked about the ordeal; instead, Reid claimed that Trump’s injuries likely stemmed from shrapnel rather than a bullet. Navratilova expressed hostility toward Trump following his appearance at the RNC, claiming the former president intentionally wore medical gauze on his ear to emphasize his injuries and appear weakened for the people attending the event.
