Firebomb Thrown at Campus Building by Anti-Israel Group

(DailyVantage.com) – Extremist pro-Palestine groups continue to wreak havoc in university campuses after an anonymous person claimed responsibility for firebombing one of the buildings in the prestigious UC Berkeley campus in California.

The supposed anonymous terrorist said on a post on Instagram that the attack, which targeted the Koshland Hall building in UC Berkeley, was in retaliation for an alleged attack on other pro-Palestinian activists at the University of California Los Angeles. Kohsland Hall houses the laboratories used by the school’s Department of Molecular & Cell Biology.

A group called the “Student Intifada” claimed responsibility for the attacks, saying that the whole UC Berkeley campus deserves to be razed to the group over its supposed treatment of student protesters.

The attack on Koshland Hall is just among several incidents of arson in the campus. Recently, a section of the Dwinelle Annex which was under construction was set on fire, and during the student protests a few weeks earlier, a police cruiser was firebombed.

The group that claims responsibility for the attacks say that similar actions will be undertaken in the future if UC Berkeley does not divest from Israel. The group also said that it would be holding fund-raising activities to help fund future operations.

“We should all be uplifting them and sharing them with our bases,” said a post by an account named the “Escalate Network” on Twitter / X. “We will defend those who fight! Free Palestine.”

Police, however, have managed to arrest one person in relation to the crimes, one Casey Robert Goonan. The 34-year-old suspect is said to be from Oakland, California, and was found through the combined investigative efforts of the UC Berkeley Police Department, the FBI, Cal Fire’s Office of the State Fire Marshal Arson and Bomb Unit, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He is currently jailed at the Alameda County Jail, with his bail set at $1 million.
