(DailyVantage.com) – Former South Carolina Gov. and 2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley has challenged supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris to point out any of Harris’ accomplishments. Harris, attempting to make herself relevant again, has recently been on the offensive against Republicans through impromptu visits to Florida in a political move against Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and through pro-choice remarks she made about abortion outside of an Iowa Republican forum.
While she serves her purpose on the campaign trail, Haley believes Harris has done little governance and that a vote for President Biden would just transfer to the eventual election of Kamala Harris.
Haley said Harris’ low approval, which sits at a net disapproval of 11.5%, with 51.3% disapproving and 39.8% approving, is not because of the Vice President’s race. Rather, Haley suggested it was because Americans do not believe Harris is qualified to lead due to her lack of accomplishments during this first term. Additionally, Haley is the daughter of Indian immigrants, making her a woman of color, debunking the notion that her attack on Harris was racist, as some attempted to suggest.
According to FiveThirtyEight aggregate polls for the Republican presidential primary, Haley currently sits in fourth with 5.3%. Leading the pack is former President Donald Trump with 49.9%, followed by DeSantis at 14.6%, and then entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at 9.9%. All of the remaining candidates are below 5%, which includes debate-attendees former Vice President Mike Pence at 4.5%, former Gov. Chris Christie at 3.7%, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott at 3.2%, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson at 0.7%, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum at 0.7%.
Whoever the Republican nominee is, they will need to face President Biden and Vice President Harris in a close presidential election. Battleground states like Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin will be particularly important for the campaigns. While Harris has gone to the likely and safe Republican states of Iowa and Florida, the next moves for Harris on the 2024 trail have yet to be revealed.
