(DailyVantage.com) – It seems that Vice President Kamala Harris can’t win when it comes to her staff. Last year, amid talks of tension and discord in her office, she lost several key staff members, including communication aides and senior advisers. Now, her new communications director is under fire — less than a week after taking the job — and it seems like he has some explaining to do.
It looks like Jamal Simmons, a prior CBS News political analyst, has some questionable tweets in his past. One, from 2010, directly calls on Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to pick up two “undocumented folks” who appeared on the news. Now, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus wants to speak with him regarding those posts.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, January 20, and lawmakers have questions for him. For instance, Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA) spoke with Axios, saying he wonders if Simmons is a Trumper, and he might just ask him that on Thursday.
The timing couldn’t be worse for VP Harris, as her reputation for running a disorderly office continues to haunt her. Additionally, Hispanic lawmakers have taken issue with her handling of matters they deem important — such as the border crisis, where she’s seemingly pulled a disappearing — or no call, no show — act.
Requests for comments from the Hispanic lawmakers have as of yet gone unanswered.
