He’s RETIRING – HUGE Administration Shakeup!

(DailyVantage.com) – The U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz has announced that he will be retiring, after serving as a federal officer within the U.S. for over three decades. Ortiz’s career has spanned multiple sectors, and he even had some overseas assignments in Afghanistan. Ortiz has announced June 30th will be his last day as the U.S. Border Patrol Chief, and that he feels at ease with how the Border Patrol has performed during his time in office. Ortiz recently became a national figure when he testified to congress earlier this year, where he stated that the Department of Homeland Security doesn’t have operational control of the southern U.S. border.

This statement contradicted statements from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. When questioned about whether Mayorkas was lying about having operational control, Ortiz seemed to avoid answering the question directly. Ortiz is leaving his position after years of an ongoing border crisis that occurred when Joe Biden undid policies set in place by Donald Trump, which caused a massive influx of immigrants into the country which is still unfolding today. Despite this crisis Ortiz seems content with how he performed, and is steadfast in his attempts to avoid disclosing negative information about the Biden Administration.

Ortiz is retiring just a month after Title 42 was ended, a policy that was in effect during his time as the head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Ortiz is seemingly aware of the looming immigrant crisis, and is retiring before it can affect him directly. Ortiz became Border Patrol Chief back in August 2021, and was a stark departure from his predecessor Rodney Scott, who was an avid Trump-era policy enforcer.

Ortiz has served the Border Patrol for over three decades, but he hasn’t fully upheld the integrity of the southern border. One directive from Ortiz’s Border Patrol was leaked, which instructed agents of Ortiz to release immigrants from facilities that reached a capacity of 125%, which was the case in over half of the sectors Border Patrol oversaw. Despite Ortiz’s claims his leadership has been marked with a staggering increase in illegal immigration, and his policy enforcement is partially responsible for Biden’s failure to uphold the southern U.S. border’s integrity.
