(DailyVantage.com) – The House committees leading the impeachment inquiry into President Biden last week released an initial report accusing the president of abuse of power and obstruction of justice in his family’s conspiracy to leverage his position to enrich themselves.
The 291-page report details how starting in 2014, the Biden family and its business associates sought to “monetize” Biden’s vice presidency. In the years that followed, the Biden family received over $27 million from foreign individuals and companies which they concealed through a series of shell corporations.
According to the report, Joe Biden used his public office to help his son Hunter gain “favorable outcomes” in his business dealings with individuals and entities located in Russia, China, Ukraine, Romania, and Kazakhstan.
Additionally, the Biden family capitalized on Joe Biden’s public office to obtain over $8 million in loans from influential Democrat Party “benefactors” and many of the loans were never repaid.
After Joe Biden became president, his Justice Department and FBI allegedly gave Hunter Biden special treatment by slow-walking US Attorney David Weiss’ investigation into the younger Biden to allow the statute of limitations to expire. The report accuses the Justice Department of preventing investigators from pursuing more traditional lines of investigation and giving Hunter’s attorneys advanced notice of investigative actions.
The House Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means Committees said in an August 19 press release that the report shows that as vice president, Joe Biden violated his oath and “abused his office” to engage in an influence-peddling scheme designed “to enrich his family.”
Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) said in the statement that the inquiry included conclusive evidence that the president “abused his public office for the private financial benefit” of members of his family and their business associates.
Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) accused the Biden administration of repeatedly lying “to cover up and obstruct” the House’s investigation into the Biden family’s influence-peddling.
Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said the president’s true legacy included “abuse of public office, corruption, and obstruction.”
Comer said the evidence compiled by the inquiry established the “strongest case” ever made by the House for impeaching a sitting president.
