Jeb Bush JUMPS IN 2024 – Big Decision Underway!

(DailyVantage.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is yet to make an announcement regarding a 2024 presidential bid, just received a new endorsement. Jeb Bush, who also served as Governor of Florida and challenged President Trump in 2016, gave a glowing review of DeSantis.

In an interview with Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade, Bush called DeSantis a “really effective governor”. He also signified that the country is in need of younger leadership, saying “I think we’re on the verge of a generational change in our politics. Kind of hope so.”

Bush also referred to DeSantis as a Washington outsider. This, though, is not entirely true, being that DeSantis served as Representative of Florida’s sixth Congressional district for over five years.

Bush’s call for a younger generation of leadership in Washington comes just over a week after Nikki Haley voiced her support for “mandatory mental competency tests” for senior members of Congress.

Haley has branded herself as the new generation of Republican leadership in D.C. In a speech Haley gave in her home state of South Carolina, she called for “a new generation to lead us into the future.”

In the 2020 general election, both Biden and Trump were already well into their 70s. Voters have expressed their desire for younger leadership. In a focus group conducted in February, six of nine participants thought that Biden was too old to run for reelection. One participant said of Biden, “I hate to say it and sound like an ageist – his age is getting really up there.”

Haley and DeSantis, if he chooses to run, would represent a new, much younger, brand of Republican. They would face a 77-year old Trump in November of 2024.

Trump, while being the oldest candidate in the GOP field thus far, has touted his mental fitness. In an interview with Fox News’s Chris Wallace in 2020, Trump claimed to have “aced” a cognitive test. “I’ll guarantee you that Biden could not answer those questions”, he said.
