Jen Psaki Doesn’t Understand How Being Soft On Crime Could Have “Consequences”

Jen Psaki Doesn't Understand How Being Soft On Crime Could Have

(DailyVantage.com) – White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is known for her questionable reactions to reporters’ questions, often awkwardly laughing or spewing sarcasm. However, the truth is she does miss the mark quite a bit in her responses, and she’s done it again.

On Sunday, January 30, Psaki took aim at Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro. Pirro was calling into question the consequences of district attorneys and prosecutors taking a “soft-on-crime” approach. It’s a legitimate concern, but Psaki decided it wasn’t worth a real answer.

The fact is rising crime in Democratic-led cities is no laughing matter, no matter what Psaki thinks. All one has to do is look toward these cities, and the consequences are crystal clear. Crime has skyrocketed in California, with smash-and-grab robberies taking place regularly and looters taking advantage of shipping bottlenecks in the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Under mayor Lori Lightfoot (D), Chicago is experiencing higher crime rates than in years past. And now, New York City’s Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg (D), is catching flak for his soft-on-crime approach, directly contradicting Mayor Eric Adams’ (D) agenda.

Empirical evidence seems to show soft-on-crime approaches embolden would-be criminals to take that next step. After all, if there’s no consequence — or no law enforcement to arrest them due to budget cuts thanks to the “defund the police” initiatives — what’s to stop them?
