U.S. Strike Successful!—Target Eliminated!
(DailyVantage.com) – A drone strike killed Ayman al-Zawahiri in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Saturday, July 30. After confirming his death, President Joe Biden addressed the nation, saying the mission was a success and necessary for global safety. He laid out a long list of reasons the United States targeted the terrorist.
Most notably, Biden acknowledged that al-Zawahiri played a prominent role in the 9/11 attacks as one of its masterminds and Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man. In the years since the devastating event, the terrorist has been actively instigating violence against the US. According to the president, the prominent al Qaeda terrorist “made videos, including in recent weeks, calling for his followers to attack the United States and its allies.”

Biden said strategists carefully crafted the mission after locating al-Zawahiri in Kabul following last year’s military troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. He personally approved the final maneuver. Based on details from US officials regarding the strike, experts speculate a tactical team used an R9X Hellfire drone to carry out the attack. This unmanned aerial vehicle can zone in on targets, piercing and cutting through them without causing the type of collateral damage that accompanies a bomb or similar artillery.
