Judge Orders Deportation of Migrant Influencer After Encouraging Squatting

(DailyVantage.com) – Leonel Moreno, an illegal migrant from Venezuela who went viral for mocking America and encouraging squatting, has been ordered to leave the U.S., according to an exclusive report by the New York Post. Homeland Security sources confirmed that an Ohio-based judge ordered Moreno, 27, to be deported on September 9.

Moreno was first arrested in March for failing to attend mandatory check-ins with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He had crossed into the U.S. illegally via Eagle Pass, Texas, on April 23, 2022. However, his actual deportation remains uncertain, as Venezuela’s government under President Nicolás Maduro has recently refused to accept deportation flights from the U.S., complicating Moreno’s removal process.

Earlier this year, Moreno gained notoriety for his controversial TikTok videos, where he flaunted stacks of cash and openly mocked other migrants who work in low-wage jobs like landscaping, construction, and cleaning. “I didn’t cross the Rio Grande to work like a slave,” Moreno reportedly said in Spanish. “I came to the U.S. to mark my territory.”

Moreno also claimed that he made $1,000 a week from TikTok, on top of his family receiving $350 a week in government assistance. He encouraged other migrants to squat in abandoned homes, sharing tips on social media about how to take advantage of the system.

Despite his TikTok account being shut down for violating platform rules, Moreno continued to boast about his earnings on Facebook and Instagram. “Yes, they closed my TikTok account, but I keep earning on Facebook and on Instagram,” he reportedly said in Spanish. “I won’t earn the same, but I am going to get my TikTok account back. I am going to keep earning money.”

Moreno’s inflammatory social media presence and his open defiance of U.S. laws have drawn widespread criticism, highlighting ongoing concerns about immigration enforcement and the challenges of deporting individuals to countries that refuse to cooperate. While the judge’s order has been issued, the complexities of international politics mean that Moreno’s future in the U.S. remains uncertain.
