Kim Jong-un Regime Denies Helping Putin’s Invasion

(DailyVantage.com) – When Russia first invaded Ukraine in February, people worldwide expected a quick defeat. Yet, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his troops proved relentless. The other side isn’t looking good, with reports of up to 80,000 Russian troops lost in the battle. Still, US intelligence could have missed sources outside the Kremlin lending more help than was previously disclosed. A concerning report from US intelligence revealed Russia was possibly buying arms from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), and a North Korean official has denied the allegation and issued a threat.

Earlier this month, the Biden Administration revealed that declassified intelligence showed Russia was seeking out ammunition and weapons from the DPRK after experiencing shortages. Moscow responded to the accusations, calling them “fake,” and North Korean representatives have insisted they’re not selling arms to the former Soviet nation.

However, an unnamed official said to hold a high role in the National Defense Ministry answered in typical North Korean fashion — with a bit of aggression. The source insists the US is spreading rumors “aimed at tarnishing the DPRK’s image.”

Notably, UN resolutions ban North Korea from importing and exporting weapons, making any armament trade with Russia violations. The Pyongyang official addressed this, saying it’s “unlawful” and something “cooked up by the U.S. and its vassal forces.” The unnamed DPRK official opined that the United States should “keep its mouth shut.”
