Mitch McConnell HEALTH DISASTER – We Have Updates!

(DailyVantage.com) – On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell (R-KY), was hospitalized with a concussion. His office announced on Thursday that “Leader McConnell tripped at a dinner event Wednesday evening and has been admitted to the hospital and is being treated for a concussion.” McConnell will likely remain in the hospital for at least a few more days.

This, though, is not the 81-year old Senator’s first spill. In 2019, McConnell fell on the outside patio of his Kentucky residence and fractured his shoulder. McConnell worked from home while recovering from his injury.

McConnell’s colleague, John Thune (R-SD), the Senate Minority Whip, attended the same event but left before McConnell had injured himself. Thune told the press, “evidently this happened later in the evening, and I was at a different dinner by then.”

Some on Twitter, sadly, have poked fun at McConnell for injuring himself. Conservative commentator and provocateur, Raheem Kassam, tweeted “Idea for a show: Mitch McConnell and John Fetterman share a hospital room. Hilarity ensues.” The tweet elicited a frenzy of memes, one of which depicted an image of McConnell and Fetterman holding hands while laying in adjacent hospital beds.

Fetterman, of course, has experienced a slew of medical problems himself. While on the campaign trail in 2022, he suffered a serious stroke. Though he has mostly recovered, he is still working through some, at times debilitating, side effects. Fetterman’s speech, for example, is often slurred and his sentences tend to jumble.

Moreover, the Pennsylvania Senator often requires the use of closed captioning, as it is difficult for him to comprehend standard modes of conversation.

More recently, though, Fetterman has suffered from severe clinical depression. A few weeks ago, he checked himself into the hospital. His team reports that he is on the road to recovery and will be returning to the Senate soon.
