(DailyVantage.com) – Spring training began in March as Major League Ball (MLB) prepares for the upcoming season. Players also spend time with media sources talking about their preparations and hopes for their respective teams. One all-star player garnered much attention, not for his words but for his attire.
On March 23, third baseman for the San Diego Padres, Manny Machado, took a few minutes out of his day to talk with the press while wearing a “Let’s Go Brandon” shirt. The monicker is a play on a more explicit chant aimed at President Joe Biden, making it clear that Machado likely isn’t a fan of the current commander-in-chief.

Machado, a Dominican American, is starting his fourth season with the Padres, and he’s had an impressive baseball career so far. The league has named him an all-star five times, and he’s won many awards. In 2020, he won the Silver Slugger award in the National League (NL), an annual award to the best offensive player in a position. Before that, in 2013 and 2015, he won two gold glove awards for his superior individual fielding performance at third base.
The MLB opening day takes place on April 7.
