Model and Actress Dayle Haddon Dies at 76

(DailyVantage.com) – Canadian actress and model Dayle Haddon, known for her iconic beauty and humanitarian work, has died at the age of 76. Authorities suspect carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause of death, according to the Solebury Township Police Department.

The tragedy unfolded early Friday morning at a property in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania, owned by Haddon’s daughter, Ryan Haddon, and her husband, actor Marc Blucas. Emergency responders arrived after a 911 call reporting an unconscious man on the first floor of a detached suite.

Haddon was discovered unresponsive in bed on the second floor and was pronounced dead at the scene. Walter Blucas, 76, was rescued and remains in critical condition at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. High levels of carbon monoxide were detected on the property, with officials citing a faulty flue and exhaust pipe on a gas heating system as the likely source of the leak. The incident also exposed two medics and a police officer to carbon monoxide; the medics were treated at a hospital, while the officer received care at the scene.

Born on May 26, 1948, in Canada, Haddon was a trailblazing model and actress. A member of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens at 13 and crowned Miss Montreal at 18, she went on to sign contracts with major cosmetic brands, including Revlon, Max Factor, Estée Lauder, and L’Oréal. She graced the cover of Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, and the 1973 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Her acting credits included roles in The World’s Greatest Athlete and North Dallas Forty.

Later in life, Haddon served as a UNICEF ambassador, advocating for humanitarian aid and writing books on beauty and aging, including Ageless Beauty and The 5 Principles of Ageless Living. In a poignant Instagram tribute, Ryan Haddon remembered her mother as “a woman in her power, yet soft and attentive to all.” She praised her creativity, kindness, and the radiant light she brought to the world, sharing photos celebrating her mother’s legacy, including her career highlights and humanitarian efforts.

The Solebury Township Police Department continues to investigate the incident, urging heightened awareness of carbon monoxide safety. Haddon’s passing has left a profound void in the entertainment and humanitarian communities, marking the end of a life filled with grace, compassion, and accomplishment.
