Pete Davidson Enters Mental Health Treatment Facility

(DailyVantage.com) – “Saturday Night Live” alum Pete Davidson recently checked himself into a facility to get help with his various mental health issues.

A source close to the 30-year-old comedian told People Magazine last week that Davidson had decided to focus on his wellbeing as part of his effort to stay sober.

Davidson has been candid about his struggles with sobriety, as well as his battle with post-traumatic stress and borderline personality disorder, for which the comedian previously sought treatment in June 2023.

A friend told the gossip outlet Page Six last year that Davidson was good about seeking help when he needed it.

Davidson has even discussed his struggles with sobriety and mental health issues as part of his stand-up appearances, including during a September 2023 appearance in Atlantic City with Jon Stewart and John Mulaney.

The comedian revealed during his performance that he had been using ketamine, an anesthetic that is also used as a treatment for pain management and depression.

The use of ketamine gained attention late last year after it was revealed that “Friends” star Matthew Perry was using the drug before his death in October 2023. Perry’s autopsy revealed in December that the actor’s death was caused by “acute effects of ketamine.”

Davidson also recently admitted that he was still struggling to quit marijuana.

The comedian said during a stand-up appearance in Atlantic City last month that he had weeded out all of his other drug use, including coke, pills, and ketamine, but was still smoking weed. He suggested that he wanted to hold out a little longer before quitting marijuana.

Davidson has been in and out of rehab in recent years. In addition to his 2023 rehab stint, Davidson was admitted to rehab in both 2017 and 2019.

The comedian revealed in 2018 that he had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, which accounted for his years of depression and anxiety.

NYPD officers were called to Davidson’s home for a wellness check that same year after he posted references to suicide on social media.
