(DailyVantage.com) – The author of several books on China’s influence over US politics suggested last week that Democrat vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has a “deep affection” toward the Chinese Communist Party.
In an interview on “Breitbart News Daily,” author Peter Schweizer suggested that the Minnesota governor’s affection is not for the people of China but for its communist government.
In 2019, Walz addressed an organization that is widely known to be a front group for the Chinese Communist Party, Schweizer said.
He also noted that when Walz does acknowledge China’s human rights abuses, he often downplays it by comparing it to human rights abuses in the United States.
As an example, Schweizer noted remarks Walz gave in 2010 about the massacre in Tiananmen Square when he compared it to the Wounded Knee massacre in the 19th Century.
Schweizer also noted that Walz’s wife claimed that they got married on the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre so her husband could remember his wedding date.
Schweizer discussed the secret police headquarters the CCP has set up in various US cities and said that despite Walz’s constant lectures about the abuses by the Minneapolis police since the 2020 in-custody death of George Floyd, the governor has never spoken out against the Chinese secret police headquarters in the Twin Cities.
Schweizer suggested that there was something nefarious about the “disconnect” in which Walz would criticize the United States while refusing to express the same criticism for the Chinese Communist Party.
He noted that Walz has never spoken out about the abuse of Chinese nationals by Beijing’s secret police in Minneapolis.
However, Schweizer downplayed the suggestion that Walz’s affinity for the Chinese Communist Party was motivated by financial gain in the same way as the Biden family.
He explained that there is no evidence that Walz has made a lot of money from his connections to China and suggested that it was more likely that the Minnesota governor’s link to Beijing was explained by a “philosophical attraction” that he has to some of China’s “left-wing” totalitarianism.
