Mass Resignation Event – They’re Leaving Their Posts!
(DailyVantage.com) – There were numerous calls to defund the police following the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police, and many Democratic-led cities took the initiative to heart. When crime rose out of control, they switched back, realizing the harm done to their citizens. Those missteps and issues regarding bail reform and prosecutors’ hesitancy to press charges for certain petty crimes have resulted in police officers resigning in droves in New York City.
According to the New York Post, nearly 1600 cops have resigned or retired this year alone as of May 31. This mass wave of departures reflects an increase of 38% from 2021. Bail reform is among the chief complaints, according to an officer who asked to be identified only as “Joe.” According to Joe, arrests didn’t stick, and those taken into custody “were back in the precinct picking up their property the same day.”
The Democrat Party's Defund the Police movement and constant attacks have been a shining success in demoralizing law enforcement as resignations and recruitment challenges continue to bedevil police departments. https://t.co/blLsk7254g

Another major problem in NYC is District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who many see as soft on crime, leading to too few prosecutions and an escalation in crime across the city. Some are even calling for his termination.
Amid these mounting concerns, the NYPD currently maintains just over 34,000 officers, down from nearly 37,000 in 2019.
What do you think? Are you concerned about the declining number of NYPD police officers?
