(DailyVantage.com) – King Charles III has decided not to invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the royal family’s Christmas celebration at Sandringham this year, royal expert Ingrid Seward has revealed. The decision appears to reflect the King’s desire for a peaceful holiday season amid ongoing family tensions and personal challenges.
Seward explained that Charles, 76, is dealing with health concerns and a demanding schedule, influencing his choice to keep the festivities limited to immediate family members. “The King wants a drama-free holiday,” Seward said, suggesting that Harry and Meghan’s presence could introduce complications.
Security concerns have further strained the relationship between King Charles and Prince Harry. Harry has previously requested enhanced security measures during his visits to the UK, citing concerns for his family’s safety. These demands reportedly created friction between father and son, contributing to their exclusion from the event.
The Sussexes have not participated in a royal Christmas gathering since 2018, shortly after their wedding. Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have made public statements critical of the monarchy, deepening the divide within the royal family.
Despite the current estrangement, Seward suggested that King Charles remains hopeful for reconciliation. “Charles would love to see Harry and the children,” Seward noted, expressing optimism about future family events helping to mend the rift.
The exclusion underscores the challenges facing the royal family as they navigate strained relationships. For now, Charles appears focused on maintaining harmony during the holiday season while leaving the door open for future reconciliation with his son and grandchildren.
