Rep. Tiffany Points Out Missing Barcodes in Duplicate Ballots

(DailyVantage.com) – Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) has raised alarm over an incident involving thousands of duplicate absentee ballots sent out in Madison, Wisconsin, many of which, he claims, lacked barcodes. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Tiffany shared that while Madison election officials had initially assured the public that the duplicate ballots had barcodes, making them impossible to submit more than once, his office had uncovered evidence to the contrary. Tiffany included a photo in his post that allegedly showed a ballot without any barcode.

The controversy stems from the Madison Clerk’s Office revealing that 2,215 duplicate absentee ballots had been mistakenly sent out to voters across ten wards. The Clerk’s Office claimed that this was an isolated error and had been quickly corrected, but Tiffany questioned the handling of the situation. In a letter addressed to Maribeth Witzel-Behl, the city’s clerk, Tiffany expressed his concerns, stating he was “alarmed” by the revelation. He pressed for more information, including how the mistake was discovered, the exact number of duplicate ballots, and whether law enforcement had been contacted to investigate.

Tiffany’s letter did not stop at mere inquiry. He called for an investigation into whether this error was due to incompetence or if there was a more “deliberate, nefarious” motive behind it. He stressed that this situation should not be brushed aside lightly, and those responsible must be held accountable for undermining the integrity of the electoral process.

Speaking with Fox News, Tiffany emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “This can’t just be swept under the rug. The people responsible for this need to be held accountable.” His concerns echo broader fears about the vulnerability of the voting process, especially in critical swing states like Wisconsin, where even minor discrepancies in ballots could have significant political implications.

This revelation has reignited the ongoing national debate about election security, with Tiffany’s push for accountability reflecting broader Republican concerns over voting irregularities and the need for stringent measures to ensure that every ballot is properly handled.
