Report Shows Biden on Vacation for 40% of Presidency

(DailyVantage.com) – President Joe Biden has reportedly spent 40.3% of his time in office on vacation, sparking criticism as the country faces ongoing challenges like inflation and border issues. According to the Republican National Committee (RNC), Biden has spent 532 days, including a recent 16-day stretch, away from the White House, prompting questions about leadership during his absences. A video posted by the RNC on August 31 showed Biden relaxing on a beach, with the caption asking, “Who’s running the country?”

This vacation time greatly exceeds that of previous presidents. For comparison, Donald Trump spent around 26% of his presidency on personal trips, while Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan each took vacations about 11% of their time in office. Jimmy Carter took just 79 days off during his single term. Biden’s trips, particularly to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, have added up, with former CBS correspondent Mark Knoller noting that Biden had already spent 150 days in Delaware just 18 months into his presidency, according to a New York Post report.

Critics on social media were quick to express their frustration. One commenter suggested that Biden isn’t in control even when he’s not on vacation, while others accused him of “wasting away” as the country struggles with economic pressures. The high inflation rates and issues related to the southern border have been particularly concerning for many Americans.

In addition to the criticism over vacation time, Biden faces doubts about his fitness for office. A CBS News/YouGov poll found that 72% of registered voters question whether he has the “mental” and “cognitive health” to serve as president. The poll highlighted growing concerns among the electorate about Biden’s ability to complete his term, especially in light of his frequent vacations and the ongoing challenges facing the country.

As the 2024 election approaches, Biden’s time away from the Oval Office could become a key talking point, with opponents likely to question whether he’s adequately addressing the nation’s pressing issues. According to a Republican report, Biden’s 532 days off during his presidency continues to fuel debate over his leadership.
