(DailyVantage.com) – Joe Rogan, host of The Joe Rogan Experience, has described the media’s depiction of President-elect Donald Trump as the “greatest media psy-op in history”. Rogan, who endorsed Trump during the 2024 election, criticized mainstream media for distorting Trump’s image and creating a narrative he argued diverges significantly from reality.
Rogan reflected on Trump’s earlier appearances on programs like The View and Oprah in the 1980s and as recently as 2012. Back then, Trump was treated with respect, often admired for his business acumen and personality. Rogan contrasted that treatment with today’s media portrayal, which he described as overwhelmingly negative and manipulative.
He accused legacy media of orchestrating a psychological operation, or psy-op, to influence public perception of Trump. “A psy-op is designed to distort reality,” Rogan explained. He argued that many of the media’s narratives have misled the public about Trump’s policies and character.
During the discussion, Rogan and his guests examined shifting political rhetoric, pointing out how past statements by prominent Democrats mirrored Trump’s current policies. For instance, Hillary Clinton’s 2008 stance on immigration, which included calls for stronger border enforcement, was cited as an example of how political positions evolve based on convenience rather than principle.
Rogan also discussed the changing media landscape, arguing that the 2024 election demonstrated a loss of control by traditional outlets over public opinion. He pointed to the growing influence of podcasts, social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), and other alternative media, which provide people with unfiltered perspectives outside of legacy media narratives.
Highlighting the broader implications, Rogan emphasized that these alternative platforms are reshaping political discourse, allowing individuals to form their own opinions without relying on the mainstream media. “People are waking up to the idea that they don’t need gatekeepers anymore,” Rogan said.
Rogan’s comments reflect a wider cultural shift toward decentralizing information sources, as traditional media outlets face mounting skepticism and competition from independent voices. Whether this shift will lead to a more informed public or greater polarization remains a matter of debate.
