Ron DeSantis ENDORSEMENT Announcement – It’s Official!

(DailyVantage.com) – Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY), a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, endorsed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Wednesday

While DeSantis has not officially declared his candidacy for President yet, Massie believes that he is the man for the job, calling him a “proven energetic leader”.

“America”, Massie said, “needs a leader who is decisive, respects the Constitution, understands policy, puts family first, and leads by inspiring.”

Massie, however, is not the first member of the hard-right Freedom Caucus to endorse DeSantis for President. In mid-March, Representative Chip Roy (R-TX), a staunch conservative and long time supporter of former President Donald Trump, endorsed the Florida Governor

Roy, in his endorsement, said that the next Republican President must be “vibrant” and “energetic”.

Roy’s endorsement, however, wasn’t too much of a surprise, being that he was very critical of Trump’s claims of election fraud in 2020.

In February, Representative Ralph Norman (R-SC), another Trump ally and House Freedom Caucus member, endorsed Nikki Haley for President. Both Norman and Haley are from South Carolina.

While Trump may not be racking in endorsements from Congressional Republicans quite yet, he remains the clear frontrunner in the GOP primary field.

In the latest 2024 Republican Presidential Nomination poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos, Trump holds a commanding 29-point lead over DeSantis. Trump’s former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, both of whom have declared their presidential bids, are far behind in the single digits.

Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson is the latest Republican to enter the race. Hutchinson, a vehement never-Trumper, will likely struggle to poll anywhere close to DeSantis, let alone Trump.

As of now, Trump has proven that he does not need many endorsements to pull away from the rest of the field. His base remains as loyal and exuberant as ever.
