Russia Calls Emergency Meeting After Allegedly Finding Evidence of Bioweapons

(DailyVantage.com) – The tensions between Ukraine and Russia continue to escalate more than two weeks after Russia’s initial incursion. Representatives of both countries have met for ceasefire talks but haven’t agreed upon anything of note so far. Now, Russia is making a claim the US and Kyiv both refute as ridiculous and an attempt at gaslighting.

On Friday, March 11, Russia demanded an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, claiming it discovered proof of biological research labs in Ukraine. China officials backed up the claims. Officials also accused the United States of having involvement in what it calls “military biological activities.”

US officials and many other countries in attendance met Russia’s claims with disdain. On Thursday, the Department of Defense (DoD) admitted there were biological research laboratories in Kyiv, but they focused on medical activities such as disease prevention and treatments and vaccine development. “There are no DoD bioweapon labs in Ukraine or anywhere else in the world,” according to officials.

Instead, the US claims this is Russia’s attempt at gaslighting the rest of the world and a way of justifying moves it might potentially carry out next. The country reportedly has a long-standing history of accusing others of what it plans to do itself. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki spoke to this, saying, “It’s a clear pattern, and no one should fall for it.”
