Deadly Evidence Found – Multiple Murders?
(DailyVantage.com) – When water levels in Lake Mead recede, long-hidden secrets reveal themselves. For instance, boaters out on the lake in Nevada discovered a barrel containing a body on Sunday, May 2. Then, a television crew covering the event found another barrel just a few hundred feet away from the first.
The boaters who found the first barrel on Sunday were in for a horrific discovery. The rusted vessel contained the skeletal remains of a man and clothing. Authorities estimate Lake Mead had hidden the barrel for up to four decades.
#BREAKING: The body found in a barrel at Lake Mead may have been underwater for as long as four decades and more bodies are likely to appear as the lake recedes due to severe drought, Las Vegas Metro police tell the @8NewsNow I-Team. https://t.co/LhYkciIJDO #8NN

Authorities also say the man inside — as yet unidentified — sustained gunshot wounds sometime in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Police have received several tips regarding the man’s identity.
As if that wasn’t enough, a second barrel turned up shortly afterward. Fortunately, this one was empty, but police believe more will show up as the lake recedes. “Lake Mead was a popular dumping site for murderers,” according to KLAS.

Barrels are showing up now because the lake is at its lowest level since the late 1930s, making them easier to find. If more do show up as authorities expect, it may finally lead to the resolution of some cold cases.
