Star-Studded Fundraiser Nets Biden $28M

( – With the 2024 presidential election looming, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have started appearing at fundraising events to help their campaigns in the election’s final stretch.

Celebrities have expressed their support for Biden by attending a fundraiser in Los Angeles, which saw appearances from George Clooney, Jason Bateman, Jack Black, and former President Barack Obama. The Biden campaign released a statement following the star-studded fundraiser, claiming that Biden’s team had raised more than $28 million from the star-studded celebrity fundraiser.

Television talk show host Jimmy Kimmel attended the Los Angeles fundraiser alongside other celebrities and moderated a brief interview with Biden and Obama. Despite Biden’s attempt to appear candid when talking with Obama and Kimmel, online audiences pointed out how Obama seemingly guided the president around the stage before helping Biden leave the area. According to Biden’s critics, the president’s age has left him incapable of holding office, forcing other celebrities and Democrats to start leading Biden’s campaign events.

Although online commenters have criticized the Democrats due to Biden’s lack of enthusiasm during the event, the fundraising event helped the president raise more than $30 million for his reelection campaign. Biden’s campaign raised approximately $26 million throughout March after former presidents Obama and Bill Clinton began appearing at Biden’s various campaign fundraisers to talk about the aging president and his desire to serve another term.

Biden’s cognitive ability remains a key concern for voters, especially given Biden’s various gaffes over the past few weeks. Biden’s appearance at the Los Angeles event wasn’t the first time people had to help the president navigate. Biden recently attended a G-7 Summit where he seemed confused and needed guidance from other world leaders. During the event, Biden started walking away from other world leaders and staring at the nearby wilderness. Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni quickly stepped in, guided Biden back to the group, and helped him face the cameras he had started ignoring.

The White House regularly denies any claims that Biden suffers from a cognitive decline, and Biden’s staff maintains that Biden is mentally present and ready for a second term. According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, conservatives are using the various videos of Biden’s gaffes to discredit the president, and thus, the videos lack valid insight into the president’s mental capabilities.
