(DailyVantage.com) – Last week, Donald Trump “re-truthed” a video clip from a supporter that included the former president threatening revenge on his enemies, Mediaite reported.
The 9-second clip, posted by Truth Social user “MAGA.com,” included Trump’s official campaign logo and an image of his face, over which Trump can be heard saying, “If you f*ck around with us, if you do something bad to us, we are going to do things to you that have never been done before.”
That is probably not the best way to win over independents and suburban voters in swing districts.
While Trump added no comment to the video when he “re-truthed” it, in an interview earlier in the week, he made similar comments, specifically about special counsel Jack Smith.
While appearing on The Simon Conway Show in Iowa last Tuesday, Trump was asked if he thought the special counsel might seek to put him in jail.
Trump suggested that it would be “very dangerous” to talk about jailing him since he has “a tremendously passionate group of voters.” He said his supporters have “more passion” now than they did in 2016 or 2020.
Last week, Trump revealed that his attorneys received a letter from the special counsel’s office notifying them that Trump is a target of the grand jury investigation into his actions after the 2020 presidential election.
In the letter, the special counsel’s office cited three federal statutes: two related to conspiracy to commit an offense or defraud the US, and a third related to possible charges including witness tampering and obstruction of an official proceeding.
On Friday, the Washington Post reported that of the over $35 million the Trump campaign took in during the second quarter of 2023, only 17.7 million went to the Trump campaign. The rest of the money—more than half—went to Save America, the political action committee that is paying Trump’s mounting legal fees.
