Child Predator ARRESTED – He Held A Powerful Office
(DailyVantage.com) – There are many threats to children online, including predators who wish to take advantage of their innocent nature. Law enforcement agencies worldwide work together to carry out undercover operations in hopes of removing these criminals from the streets. A Dallas, Texas, dragnet culminated in the arrest of a Point Pilot, Texas, teacher who had recently won the town’s mayoral seat.
On June 21, authorities arrested 42-year-old Matt McIlravy, following a 5-month-long investigation by the Dallas Police Department. They charged him with online solicitation of a child, a second-degree felony. City Manager Britt Lusk was present when law enforcement served the warrant for McIlravy’s arrest at City Hall.

McIlravy is married with two sons; his wife is also a teacher. He heads up a local men’s prayer group, but the church refused to comment on his arrest or continuing role in the group. He had recently won the town’s election for Mayor in May.
During the investigation, authorities also uncovered other conversations McIlravy reportedly had with minors, but they have not named any of them. The town of Pilot Point has since apparently deleted his biography on its website.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Michael Fontenot at 214-671-4281.
