“The Office” Star GOES ROGUE On Hollywood – Speaks The Truth!

(DailyVantage.com) – Actor Rainn Wilson, who is best known for playing Dwight Schrute in the hit TV show ‘The Office’, accused Hollywood of holding an anti-Christian bias in a post on March 11.

“I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood,” declared Wilson on Twitter, citing a character from HBO’s zombie drama ‘The Last of Us’ as one recent example.

Wilson commented that as soon as he saw the character ‘David’ begin reading from a Bible, he knew that he would turn out to be a villain, since Bible-reading Christian preachers are almost always antagonists in Hollywood productions.

Wilson then questioned whether a Christian preacher could be portrayed in Hollywood as a “loving” and “kind” protagonist for once instead.

In ‘The Last of Us’ — which is based on the 2013 video game of the same name — David is both a Christian pastor and a cannibal who tortures, kills, and feeds his victims to his followers who rely on him amid a zombie apocalypse for protection, food, and comfort.

The Twitter post received nearly 50,000 likes, and while some social media users pointed to both Mr Rogers and Eli from the 2010 movie ‘The Book of Eli’ as two examples of Christian protagonists, many others agreed that positive representations of Christianity in Hollywood were far and few between.

In a series of follow-up posts, Wilson acknowledged that while he would not consider himself a Christian, most of the Christians he had known in life were kind and loving people who should be “honored” by the media instead of demonized.

He did, however, accuse some evangelical Christians of damaging the unity of the United States by opposing the LGBT movement.

Pop culture magazine ‘Nerdist’ disagreed with Wilson’s assertion that David represented anti-Christian bias in Hollywood and argued that it was the opposite: that David represents one of the false prophets in sheep’s clothing warned about in the Bible.
