Video from the event shows a truck emblazoned with “TRUMP” and “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” approaching Trump’s plane in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with Trump sporting an orange safety vest and greeting supporters.
Standing by the truck, Trump told the crowd, “Hello everybody. This is Donald Trump, and 250 million people are not garbage.” His arrival, complete with American flags waving from the truck, highlighted his response to Biden’s controversial comment. He then playfully asked the media, “How do you like my garbage truck?” and said the truck was “in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.” Trump’s main message to supporters at the rally was straightforward: “We’re a nation in decline… and we’re going to bring our country back.”
Biden’s original comment, which he later attempted to clarify as directed toward a comedian who had spoken at one of Trump’s rallies, quickly ignited backlash among Trump supporters and Republicans alike. Trump directly addressed Biden’s comment during a North Carolina rally, stating, “My response to Joe and Kamala is very simple: You can’t lead America if you don’t love Americans.” Trump then pivoted to Vice President Kamala Harris, stating, “Kamala Harris is not fit to be president of the United States. She doesn’t have the intellect, the stamina, or that special quality that real leaders must have.”
Meanwhile, Vice President Harris was questioned about Biden’s statement. She told reporters, “The president clarified his comments,” adding, “I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for.”
