Trump Pledges Massive Energy Price Reductions if Elected

(DailyVantage.com) – At a rally in Pennsylvania on Monday, former President Donald Trump promised to cut energy and electricity prices in half within a year if he is elected in November.

Trump spoke in the town of Indiana, Pennsylvania, to a crowd of about 5,000 people at the Ed Fry Arena. Hundreds more waited outside. During his speech, he focused on the economy, immigration, and energy—topics that polls say are his strongest.

“It’s great to be back in this beautiful commonwealth with so many hard-working American patriots,” Trump said. “Early voting starts soon in Pennsylvania, and we need every one of you. Don’t take anything for granted—we have to win this state.”

Trump took aim at the energy policies of President Biden and Vice President Harris, calling them harmful to America. He particularly criticized the Biden administration’s liquid natural gas export ban, which is currently paused due to a lawsuit from Republican attorneys general.

“I will end the natural gas export ban, which stops you from selling to countries that really need it,” Trump promised, adding that he would help Pennsylvanians get back to work with energy jobs. “We’ll be pumping, fracking, drilling, and producing like never before.”

He also addressed rising energy costs, blaming Biden’s policies. “If you vote for me, I will cut your energy and electricity prices in half within 12 months,” Trump vowed. “We’re buying oil from Venezuela when we have more than enough right here. It’s insane!”

Trump also mocked Vice President Kamala Harris for her past position on fracking. “If you think she’ll let your energy industry survive, you need your head examined,” he said.

On immigration, Trump warned that the influx of illegal immigrants is changing small towns across the U.S., including in Pennsylvania. The crowd responded by chanting, “Send them back!”

Trump’s rally is part of a series of stops in Pennsylvania, one of the key battleground states that could determine the outcome of the 2024 election. Fact-checkers have examined Trump’s claims about cutting U.S. energy costs and found that while his policies may increase domestic energy production, achieving a 50% reduction in energy prices in such a short timeframe would be extremely challenging due to various economic and geopolitical factors.
