(DailyVantage.com) – With former President Donald Trump’s plethora of legal problems piled on top of the concerns related to his presidential campaign, you’d think that he’d have a lot on his mind. Apparently not, as the former chief executive took to social media to blast New York Attorney General Letitia James for her facial expressions in court.
Speaking to his 6.4 million followers on Truth Social, the Twitter/X-like social media platform he owns, Trump called out the NYAG for “smirking all day long” during the latest hearing on his civil fraud trial. He also said that James is “enjoying it (the hearings) a bit too much.”
Trump also called the New York state fraud law “unconstitutional.” The former commander-in-chief, along with his adult sons Eric and Donald Jr., are accused of committing extensive fraud for allegedly overstating the value of a number of the Trump Organization’s holdings in order to secure more favorable loan terms and financial agreements with banks and other financial institutions.
The former president has reasoned that he and his sons did not commit any wrongdoing, given that “not a single penny was lost by these banks.” However, presiding judge Arthur F. Engoron has already ruled that the defendants committed fraud; the trial is to determine the extent of the fraud and the appropriate punishment to meete out. If Judge Engoron accedes to the entirety of the penalties the NYAG is looking for, Trump and his family stand to lose their right to do business in New York, as well as pay millions of dollars in fines.
Cameras in the court did catch the attorney general wearing a small smile as Donald Trump Jr. took the stand in a recent hearing. The prosecution has also recently rested its case against Trump and his sons.
