(DailyVantage.com) – Former Fox News host and independent journalist Tucker Carlson has reiterated his strong support for the vice-presidential pick of former president Donald Trump, Republican Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, saying that people who are opposed to the choice are “bad persons”.
“Every bad person I’ve ever met in a lifetime in Washington was aligned against J.D. Vance,” Carlson said of the opposition against the Ohio senator.
Speaking to the audience at conservative organization Heritage Foundation’s Policy Fest, the outspoken founder of the Tucker Carlson Network (TCN) said that people who disagree with Trump’s choice of running mate are largely folks who exude an “odor is so powerful” in terms of their benefitting and profiting from “killing other people in pointless wars.”
Carlson described Vance, a former critic of Trump during the latter’s successful 2016 run, as someone who would be “harder to manipulate” by certain influential people in Washington D.C., and thus considered to be an “impediment to their exercising power.” Carlson added that he was in a unique position – one away from the power plays in D.C. – to see these supposed nefarious individuals and entities oppose a person who could seriously endanger their positions of influence once Trump wins the presidency.
Trump announced Vance as his running mate just in time for the beginning of the Republican National Convention, where the former was announced as the GOP’s standard-bearer for the national elections in November. Prior to the announcement, the former commander-in-chief was tight-lipped about who he would choose as vice president, floating several prominent personalities within the Republican Party as possible candidates. These included Florida Senator Marco Rubio, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, former housing chief Dr. Ben Carson, North Dakota Governor Doug Bergum.
Along with Carson, Vance also received a glowing endorsement from former presidential son Donald Trump Jr., who called the Ohio senator “one of the most dynamic, young leaders in the country”. Vance, Trump Jr. said, was stark contrast to President Joe Biden’s partner, Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he called the “worst VP in the history of our nation.”
