(DailyVantage.com) – When President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, he reversed many immigration policies put in place by the former administration. Since then, the border has seen unprecedented numbers of migrants attempt to cross, many of whom are unaccompanied minors. New figures show the stunning level of growth in that demographic.
According to a media release by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the number of migrant children who crossed the border at the Del Rio sector alone came in at a whopping 2,280 between October 1 and December 31, 2021. This number is a nearly 75% increase from the 1,305 that crossed during the same period in 2020.

Children as young as five are attempting to make this crossing, and juveniles who are brought into custody eventually find themselves settled elsewhere in the US via the not-so-secret flights dispatched around the country at night.
Adding insult to injury, while the number of those attempting and succeeding in crossing the border continues to increase, the Biden Administration has significantly decreased the number of immigrants it deports or otherwise removes from the country — to the tune of 70% fewer.
The Del Rio sector is just one of many ports where illegal immigrants try to cross into the United States. Without any clear-cut policies in place, the problem will only continue, and it’s already been a real burden on US resources.
