Zelenskyy Escapes Assassination Through Intel From an Unlikely Source

(DailyVantage.com) – The situation in Ukraine has rapidly escalated since Russian troops flooded across the border. Military artillery and Russian forces have rolled through several major Ukrainian cities. Russian forces have shot missiles, engaged in shootouts with Ukrainian troops, and there’s the long convoy reportedly on its way to Kyiv. Amid all of this, Russian officials allegedly sent a special group of Chechens to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. A tip from a surprising source foiled the deadly attempt.

According to an announcement he made to Telegram, Oleksiy Danilov, head of Ukraine’s National Security Council, said a group of assassins from Chechnya called Kadyrovites, an elite team of special forces troops, were at the root of the plot. The tip, he said, came from Russia’s Federal Security Service, which staunchly opposes Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine.

According to Danilov, the Chechens comprised two separate groups, one which was “eliminated” and the other under fire in Gostomel, a city north of Kyiv. Danilov used harsh words when describing the situation, saying, “We will not give our President or our country to anyone. This is our land; get out of here.”

Despite Russia’s reluctance to release statistics, the authoritarian ruler of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has admitted he lost troops in Ukraine, though he stopped short of admitting what their exact mission was or if it involved Zelenskyy. Kadyrov also expressed severe dissatisfaction with how the battle has unfolded, saying Putin needs to step up and do more.

Zelenskyy is aware of the danger to himself and his family, acknowledging they are Russia’s primary targets. Fortunately, both sides worked together to foil this assassination attempt. Hopefully, there will be no more forthcoming.
