(DailyVantage.com) – Criminal hackers have stolen intimate viewing habits of over 200 million Pornhub Premium users and are now blackmailing the company to prevent mass exposure of Americans’ most private digital activities.
Story Snapshot
- ShinyHunters criminal collective stole 94 GB of data linking email addresses to explicit viewing histories of Pornhub Premium users
- Hackers are extorting Pornhub with threats to publicly release intimate search and viewing records of roughly 201 million users
- Breach occurred through third-party analytics provider Mixpanel, highlighting dangerous security vulnerabilities in data-sharing partnerships
- Stolen data includes users’ email addresses, locations, video URLs, search keywords, and detailed timestamps of private activities
Massive Privacy Violation Threatens American Families
The ShinyHunters hacking collective has weaponized intimate data against ordinary Americans by stealing comprehensive viewing records from Pornhub Premium subscribers. BleepingComputer confirmed that hackers possess email addresses directly linked to detailed viewing histories, search terms, download activity, and location data spanning millions of users. This represents one of the most invasive privacy breaches in recent history, targeting the most sensitive aspects of personal behavior that could destroy marriages, careers, and reputations if exposed publicly.
Third-Party Vendor Creates Security Nightmare
Pornhub’s parent company Aylo claims the breach originated from analytics provider Mixpanel rather than their own systems, revealing how dangerous third-party partnerships expose American consumers to criminal exploitation. Mixpanel suffered a November 8 smishing attack that compromised multiple corporate clients including OpenAI, CoinTracker, and SoundCloud. However, Mixpanel disputes responsibility for the Pornhub data theft, claiming the information was last accessed through a legitimate Aylo employee account in 2023, creating confusion about accountability.
The incident demonstrates how Americans lose control over their most private information when companies share data with multiple vendors and analytics services. Despite Pornhub discontinuing Mixpanel services in 2021, historical user data remained vulnerable in third-party systems for years.
Criminal Enterprise Targets Conservative Values
ShinyHunters has established itself as one of 2025’s most destructive hacking operations, systematically targeting American businesses through vendor infiltration and supply-chain attacks. The group deliberately chose Pornhub data for extortion because exposure of sexual viewing habits carries maximum embarrassment potential, particularly threatening individuals in conservative communities where such revelations could cause severe social and professional consequences. This calculated attack on traditional family values represents criminal exploitation of societal standards that criminals know will maximize victim compliance with ransom demands.
The hackers are demanding payment while threatening to publish a complete list of Premium users along with their detailed viewing activities. Law enforcement agencies must prioritize stopping these criminals before they can execute their threats against American families and communities.
