Back TOGETHER – Trump Buries The Hatchet!?

(DailyVantage.com) – Megyn Kelly, former FOX host and now podcaster, had her first meeting with Former President Trump since the contentious interview she conducted with him in 2015. Speaking one-on-one at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) conference, the conservative political organization that works to mobilize high school and college Republicans, she said after that it was “frankly great to see him.”

She went on to mention that Trump is likely not to attend the Republican presidential primary debate. Trump is currently the dominant frontrunner in the Republican 2024 presidential field. At a recent TPUSA straw poll on its audience’s favored nominee for the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary, former President Trump came in the lead with 85.7% of the votes. Trump also commands a lead with aggregate polling on FiveThirtyEight, averaging about 30 points on runnerup Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida.

Kelly says that she believes Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida won the 2024 Republican presidential candidate forum hosted by Tucker Carlson; however, it is evident that the DeSantis campaign has grown rather stagnant in its ability to compete with Trump.

Trump has done a lot to demonstrate his continued popularity within the Republican Party, and the opposition from many Republicans seems to lack traction this far out from the first primaries. Candidates such as former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley are polling well; however, they have yet to break double digits and show competitive viability—not only for the primary but for the general election as well.

Describing DeSantis as “nerdy”, Kelly said that if he needed to face adversarial media if he wished to regain the momentum his campaign has lost, While the 2024 Republican primary race is still ongoing, the position of Vice President is ending up being more competitive in speculation than the actual Presidential race. Trump is maintaining a lead that DeSantis would need to work hard to catch up to.
