Mike Pence Denies Conspiracy Theory That FBI Instigated Jan 6

(DailyVantage.com) – While former vice president Mike Pence has taken himself out of contention for the Republican presidential nomination this year, he apparently still has to deal with different conspiracies that allege that President Joe Biden and the Democrats stole the 2020 presidential election.

In recent statements, Pence addressed claims that the Federal Bureau of Investigation somehow was behind the January 6, 2021 riots in the Capitol.

In an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Nation”, Pence reiterated that it has been established “again and again” that the FBI had nothing to do with – much less was the one that instigated – the events of January 6. A poll conducted by the University of Maryland indicate that around 25% of Americans – and a third of Republicans – believe that the January 6 riots were a brainchild of the FBI. A number of prominent Republicans, headed by former president Donald Trump, along with Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Republican presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy and Utah Senator Mike Lee, have used the poll to validate accusations that the results of the 2020 presidential election were tainted with cheating.

The former vice president also said that he was “infuriated” by the rioters’ behavior that day, and that he was there and witnessed the chaos and destruction himself.

“I remember thinking, ‘Not this. Not here. Not at the United States Capitol,” Pence told Tapper.

Pence called on the public to “look at the facts” with regard to the events of January 6. Pence has also been a critic of his former boss since they both left the White House, saying that Trump’s statements on that day were “reckless” and said that the riots never should have happened.

Over 1,000 people have been convicted over their participation in the January 6 riots, after investigations by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice.
